The United States women's national volleyball team stunned the Chinese national squad with a straight three-set victory 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-17) to claim first place in the Hong Kong leg of the FIVB World Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon.
Outside hitter Jordan Larson-Burbach led all scorers with a game-high 18 points, while Kimberly Hill added with 15 points to lead the Americans, ending the Hong Kong leg in a high spirits as they head to Bangkok, Thailand for the Group 1 final round in July.

Xiangyu Gong paced the Chinese national team with 10 points, and Ting Zhu finish with seven points.
With the victory, the world No. 1 team was able to avenge their 3-1 defeat to the Asian powerhouse during Ningbo leg of the series two weeks ago. It was China's first and only lost of the tournament, but with a 3-0 sweep, the Americans got the better of the world No. 2 in points. Though both teams registered an 8-1 win-loss record, Team USA garnered 24 points in nine matches played, while China end up with just 23 points.
The 1996 FIVB Coach of the Year Lang Ping was not too frantic with the team's setback. The 55-year-old veteran mentor stressed the national squad's main goal in participating in the FIVB-sanctioned annual volleyball tournament.
"Our goal in the World Grand Prix is to train our players and give them the opportunity to learn. The only regret I have is that we didn't deliver a more competitive match today," the highly decorated coach said.
"Serves from the US destroyed our rhythm of play. They also played with a faster pace than we expected. We were playing catch up. We have a lot to evaluate and summarize. This is a good lesson. Our players are still young and may not be able to tackle a difficult situation without making sacrifices."
