Surging squad Liaoning Whowin FC pulled off a crushing 3-1 victory over struggling team Guangzhou R&F FC in a 2016 Chinese Super League season meeting at the Tiexi New District Sports Center in Shenyang on Sunday.

The win was a grand welcome for Australian striker Dario Vidosic, who recently signed with the Northeast Tigers and was right away given a starting spot in the lineup of head coach Ma Lin, as per Football Australia.

The 29-year-old Socceroo played for the first 58 minutes of the contest before being substituted by countryman Michael Thwaite.

However, it was Vidosic's frontline partner, Zambian striker James Chamanga, who proved to be the star of the match as he unleashed a brace at the 33rd and 75th minute to help lead Liaoning to their third consecutive win, via Soccerway.

Chamanga netted his first goal via a penalty kick midway in the first half of play, breaking the game's deadlock to give the hosts a one-point advantage at the half time break.

Guangzhou R&F took a major disadvantage in the match when defender Yu Yang was booked for a direct red card at the 52nd minute which resulted in an automatic send-off.

With their opponents down to ten men, Congolese defender Assani Lukimya then doubled the lead just two minutes later with a brilliant individual goal against Blue Lions goalkeeper Cheng Yuelei.

Chamanga then made it 3-0 with 15 minutes left in regulation as he converted a pass from right back Wang Liang to seal the win for the hosts.

Guangzhou was able to score a consolation goal right at the 90th minute with a strike from substitute defender Zeng Chao from a cross by teammate Wang Xiaolong.

With the win, Liaoning extended their winning run to three games following a 10-game winless slump. The Northeast Tigers have now climbed to the ninth spot of the league table, overtaking the Blue Lions and newly-promoted club Yanbian Funde in the overall standings.

Vidosic is coming off a stint with the Western Sydney Wanderers in the 2015-2016 season of A-League where he had a two-year contract in 2015. After only a season with the Australian club, he decided to move to the Far East and join Liaoning.
