Anhui Wenyi Beats Shaanxi Xinda Wolves in 18th Round of Chinese National Basketball League

Anhui Wenyi continued their winning roll as they scored an impressive victory over the league leaders Shaanxi Xinda Wolves with a 108-99 scoreline in the 18th round of the Chinese National Basketball League (NBL) on Friday night.

Anhui has extended their winning streak to 13 games and avenged their heart-breaking 111-110 loss to Shaanxi Xinda Wolves early last month in their first meeting this season.

With the win, Anhui has improved to a 16-2 win-loss record and now shares the top spot with Shaanxi. Anhui handed the Wolves its second loss of the season and snapped its three-game winning streak.

According to Asia-Basket, former NBA player Manny Harris finished the game with a spectacular game performance of 52 huge points and 10 big rebounds along with five steals to lead Anhui to a sweet victory. The 6-foot-5 tall native of Detroit went 16 for 34 from the field and registered a perfect 17 of 17 from the free-throw line in 48 minutes of playing time.

American forward Chris Singleton, a former Washington Wizards player, also had a remarkable game production of 20 points and 14 boards for the winners. Local players YongGang Zhang and Shouwei Cun chipped in 15 points and 10 points respectively for Anhui.

According to NowGoal, the winning team capped the first 24 minutes of the match with a slim six-point lead 62-56.  Shaanxi was able to make a 29-27 run in the third period to cut the deficit within four 89-85 entering the last quarter of the game.

In the final 12 minutes of the match, Anhui was able to contain the Wolves and put up a 19-14 charge to wrap up the game and register their 16th victory in 18 games played.
