$15 Cubot V1 Smartband to hit Market on July 20

Smart wearable devices are slowly becoming ubiquitous along with smartphones. While most smart wearable devices cost up to $100, there is a growing niche of manufacturers who have decided to stick with the lower price range market. One such manufacturer is Cubot, which plans to release the Cubot V1 smart band on July 20 for only $15.

Cubot is just one of the many Chinese tech manufacturers that have invaded the market with its unique brand of low-cost device with high-end specs.
The Cubot V1 has a Diaglog DA1458 Low Consumption Bluetooth 4.0 main chip. It also has a Freescale MMA8652 triaxial accelerometer. It has a 0.88-inch OLED screen with 128x32 resolution. It sports an 80mAh battery pack which the company claims can last up to 30 days on standby, according to Giz China.
Among the Cubot V1's list of functions include the pedometer, a calorie counter, and a measurement tool. Using the Cubot V1 app, users can get the function of sleep and sports monitoring. Syncing the smart band to a smartphone gives it a handful of other functions like sports statistics and WeChat Moments.
Charging can be done through the Micro USB port. According to its official website, the Cubot V1 app supports Android 4.3 or newer versions, and iOS 8.0 or newer versions. Synching the smart band to a smartphone can be done through Bluetooth 4.0 support.
The Cubot V1 is water resistant, thanks to its IP65 certification. This means that users can still wear the band even when taking a bath or washing their hands.
