Chinese tennis ace Zheng Saisai continued her winning run after beating the tournament's seventh seed Alize Cornet of France in two easy sets 6-4 6-1 to cruise into the quarterfinals of the ongoing WTA Bank of the West Classic in Stanford, California on Wednesday.
According to Xinhua, the 22-year-old Zheng turned out to be too strong for her French challenger, wrapping up the second-round match in just 87 minutes.

"My game plan changed a lot today, not keeping too many rallies with her because she moves very well and very solid," she said after the match. "I think I played well today."
Zheng, a native of Shaanxi, will be defending her Stanford women's doubles title which she won with tennis partner Xu Yifan last year after defeating Arantxa Parra Santonja and Anabel Medina Garrigues in two straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.
"Last year, I was here 10 days and I really love it here. Every match, I feel like I meet new fans, so I really enjoy playing here and hope I can keep going!" Zheng said.
The Rio de Janeiro-bound Zheng and Xu will play in the doubles event at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. The Chinese tennis pair will represent their country in the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil along with the PRC's elite tennis players Zhang Shuai, Peng Shuai and Wang Qiang. Zheng currently sits on the 19th spot in the latest WTA double's world ranking.
With the victory, Zheng will play 2016 Australian Open semifinalist and current world No. 18 Johanna Konta of Great Britain in the round of last eight for a semifinal place. The British tennis star defeated wildcard Julia Boserup in two straight sets 6-3, 6-1, according to BBC.
