Football News: China Announces National Team Lineup for Upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

The Chinese Football Association on Tuesday announced the squad for the upcoming third round of the Asian Zone FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
According to Xinhua, seven players from the Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande, five footballers from the second-best team in the league Jiangsu Suning, and four from Shanghai SIPG are part of the 27-man roster. The team will gather in Kunming, the capital of Southwest China's Yunnan Province, on August 1 for a week of training.

Shanghai SIPG's Midfielder Lei Wu was on the list. The 24-year-old has scored nine goals in 20 matches played this season, making him the fourth-leading scorer in the league. However, he is Shanghai's top scorer.
Lei is three goals ahead of his Brazilian teammate Elkeson, who has registered six goals so far in 18 matches this season, according to SofaScore.
Forward Gao Lin is among the players who will be representing China in the World Cup qualifiers. The Guangzhou Evergrande star has scored five goals in a total of sixteen matches played this season.
Forward Xuesheng Dong of Hebei China Fortune was also included in the lineup. He is the side's top scorer with eight goals in 18 matches played. He is four goals ahead of teammates Stephane M'Bia and five goals better than Gervinho.
