After eliminating Guangxi Weizhuang Rhinos with a clean 3-0 sweep in the quarterfinal stage of the postseason, the surging Henan Shedian Laojiu continued its winning run in Game 1 of their best-of-five semifinal series over Anhui Wenyi on Sunday evening.

Henan flaunted their resilience with a 111-103 victory to take the opening game and secure a 1-0 edge in the series lead.

According to Asia-Basket, former Memphis Tigers hotshot Darius Washington had a team-high of 43 points and four rebounds along with four steals to lead Henan to the win. The veteran American point guard went 16 for 26 from the field including three treys and made 8 of 10 from the foul line while playing for 41 minutes.

Former Georgia State Panthers standout Eric Buckner scored another double-double performance of 29 points and 10 boards along with four blocked shots and three dimes while Chinese player Yuxing Yang finished the game with 19 points for the winners. Locals Qingfei Min and Yuyang Xue combined 16 points and 12 rebounds for the basketball squad.

Henan's starters made the big difference in the game as they outscored the opposing team's first five 102-68.

According to NowGoal, Henan lost the first 12 minutes of the match as Anhui began the opening quarter with a strong start capping the first period leading 33-25. The second quarter saw Henan regrouping and staging a 27-19 run to erase the eight-point deficit and equalized the score with 52-all at the break.

In the second half of the game, Henan managed to contain Anhui and pulled away in the final twelve minutes of the contest with a 31-20 outburst to seal the victory.

American power-forward Chris Singleton paced the losing side with team-high 30 points and 16 rebounds. Game 2 will be played on Wednesday.
