A new Oppo smartphone has been spotted on the website of Chinese telecommunication authority TENAA. There are rumors that it is a variant or a successor to the Oppo R9 smartphone called the R9S.
In the past few months, many rumors and leaks about the R9S smartphone have surfaced online, GSM Arena reported. However, only a few specifications of the device were revealed in the TENAA listing. There are speculations that the Oppo R9S would be identical to the R9 in terms of design.

According to Slash Gear, the R9S looks similar to the original R9 but has a metal body and a physical home button that can also be a fingerprint scanner. It will be powered by an octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 625 chipset, which is more powerful than the chipset used on the standard R9 smartphone.
The R9S will come with an Adreno 506 GPU for superb graphics. It has the Oppo logo and rear camera that are seen on the upper left corner of the back. It is expected to have a better battery life. It will also feature the Super VOOC fast charging technology that the company showcased earlier this year which is capable of charging a 2500 mAh battery in 15 minutes.
There are rumors that the company is working on a dual camera system seen in other smartphones such as the LG G5 and Huawei P9. The R9S is expected to be launched sometime next month, maybe at the IFA 2016 event with other new devices.
