LeEco Unveils Cool 1 Smartphone With Dual Camera for Only $165

It is highly likely that the next trend in the smartphone industry will be the dual camera setup. With companies like Huawei and Meizu starting to adopt this design. The latest to join the fray is the Cool 1 device, a smartphone designed by LeEco and Coolpad.
The Cool 1 smartphone features a dual camera setup minus the hefty price tag. According to Giz China, the Cool 1 is expected to cost RMB1099 (about $165).

The LeEco Cool 1 has a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1080p resolution. The smartphone is made of metal and comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset with four 1.2GHz Cortex A53 chips, four 1.8GHz Cortex A72 chips, and an Adreno 510 graphics processing unit. The device is available in two variants in terms of memory: 3GB and 4GB models.
The smartphone has two 13-megapixel rear facing camera in its dual setup, just like the Huawei P9. One of the two camera sensors shoots monochrome, while the other one snaps colored photos. With this kind of setup, LeEco promises up to 20 percent better image clarity with higher brighter, and better noise reduction, according to GSM Arena. The company noted that photo quality jumps a notch higher when the monochrome camera is used.
The rear facing main camera has a dual-tone flash and also supports 4K video recording. Additionally, there is also an 8-megapixel front camera for selfie shots.
