One of the most highly anticipated smartphones right now is the Elephone R9. Dubbed as a premium phone with a mid-tier price, the Elephone R9 is making waves in the tech community. Recently, it was revealed that the R9 would sport an impressively thin body.

Elephone claims that its engineers spent nearly a year perfecting the design and build of the Elephone R9. Looking at early photos of the device, it appears that it would sport rounded corners as well as a very thin profile. The Elephone R9 is 7.55mm thin, which means that the device is 0.05mm thinner than the iPhone 6 Plus. Although the difference might be totally negligible, experts have stated that it is a good marketing tool for the Elephone R9, according to Giz China.

The Elephone R9 would sport a full metal frame made by CNC processing. As with almost all premium-tiered smartphones that are currently on the market, the R9 would come with a fingerprint scanner located on the front Home button.

The R9 would have a 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution and bezel-less design. Although Elephone is yet to confirm this, the R9 is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset with a deca-core processor, 3GB of memory and 32GB storage space. The device is rumored to have a 16-megapixel main shooter and an 8-megapixel front facing camera. The R9 is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow mobile operating system.
