China Aims Average Life Expectancy of 79 by 2030, Introduces New Health Plan

China is aiming to raise its citizens' average life expectancy to 77.3 by 2020 and 79 by 2030, according to a new health care blueprint published by the State Council on Tuesday.

Life expectancy at birth has increased substantially across China as the main causes of fatalities in the country have changed over the past two decades, according to a new study published in the Lancet journal.
