2 Survivors Found More Than 60 Hours Following Taiwan Earthquake

Following the traumatic earthquake that hit Taiwan two days ago and left at least 37 people dead, rescuers have pulled out two survivors -- an 8-year-old girl and her aunt -- from the rubble of the high-rise apartment buildings that toppled.

The chief of the Communist Party of Shenzhen, the city where construction debris knocked over 33 buildings and trapped dozens of people, bowed as a sign of penance and swore to punish anyone who is found responsible for the accident . The apology was made on Friday, the same day that central government investigators announced that the landslide was caused by human error.
Fire in Northeast China Coal Mine Kills 21

Another tragedy has rocked China as a coal mine caught fire on Friday night, killing 21 workers. According to Xinhua News, the fire started at 11 p.m. at Xinghua mine in Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province. The mine is located near the border with Russia.
