A woman with dual citizenship identified as Gill Rosenberg was reportedly captured during a battle in Kobani, Syria on Sunday between the Kurdish military and the Islamic State of Iraq in the Levant (ISIL) militants but she announced online that she was safe.

Extremists from the group Islamic State of Iraq in the Levant (ISIL) reportedly captured a female Canadian fighter after suffering heavy losses from the battle in the Syrian town of Kobani.
