Chinese authorities have decided to temporarily shut down the Zhangjiajie glass bridge after officially opening it to public barely 13 days ago. Officials have cited maintenance work as the main reason for temporary shutdown.

Tourists were invited to smash sledgehammers into the highest and longest glass bridge in the world, which is suspended 300 meters above a canyon at Zhangjiajie's Tianmen Mountain National Park, to test its strength and safety on Saturday.
