Uber China Wants to Capitalize on 90-Second Required App Duration

In China, Uber users are required to open the app for at least 90 seconds after they get into the car they have hailed. While this does not seem to be a long duration, Uber is planning to capitalize on that minute-and-a-half mark by sending out valuable information or even ads to users.

Facebook announced on Wednesday Dec. 16 a first-time partnership with the ride-hailing service Uber to allow U.S. users to summon a vehicle from within Facebook's Messenger smartphone app.

Uber has reportedly bid $3 billion for Nokia's Digital Mapping Service - "Here". Other competitors in this bidding war include Samsung, Tencent and Yahoo.
