Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is apparently gearing to release a new device into the market. A listing on the website of China's telecommunication certification authority (TENAA) has revealed a new Xiaomi smartphone, thought to be the Xiaomi Redmi 4.

Since the beginning of the year, Xiaomi had been busy with its Redmi line of devices, releasing new models almost every other month. The centerpiece of the Redmi series is the Pro model which sports a dual camera design. Despite the fact that the Xiaomi Redmi 3 is less than a year old, the smartphone giant is already preparing to release its successor.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 has a 5-inch display with Full HD resolution. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz, 3GB of memory, and 32GB of storage space. The TENAA listing confirmed that the Redmi 4 would retain the IR blaster feature of its predecessor. According to Giz China, the Redmi 4 has a 4000mAh battery pack.

The Redmi 4 would have a 13-megapixel rear facing main camera, and an 8-megapixel front facing selfie shooter, according to Phone Arena. The phone has a fingerprint scanner situated on its rear just below the camera sensor. Since the phone sports a fingerprint scanner, it is highly likely that the device will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Xiaomi's custom user interface.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is expected to cost around $105. Xiaomi is yet to confirm when the device would hit the market.
