Pitt shared his excitement for the premier of the film in Shanghai. The film is set in World War II time period. It tells the story of a spy couple, who are assigned the task of killing a German officer. The film has been directed by Robert Zemeckis of 'Forrest Gump' fame. Allied is set to be aired in Chinese cinema on Nov. 30.
"The film is very romantic and a little bit tragic. I believe you will like it," Pitt said.
The star also spent nearly 40 minutes signing autographs for his Chinese fans. He spent another 20 minutes at a closely guarded media event for the promotion of his latest movie. At the press event, the reporters were not allowed to ask questions.
Brad Pitt was allegedly banned from visiting China due to his 1997 movie "Seven Years in Tibet." The film recounted the story of an Austrian explorer and a young Dalai Lama. Apparently, the film showed China in bad light.
However, Pitt had visited China nearly two years back on a low key tour. He was accompanied by his then-partner, Angelina Jolie, who came to China to promote her film. Pitt's new film 'Allied' is scheduled to make its international debut on Nov. 23.
