Wild trade rumors have emerged that New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony could demand a trade to the Cavs after he was offended by team president Phil Jackson's recent comments about his friend LeBron James.

Anthony, a nine-time NBA All-Star, said to have defended his pal and is "mad" after Jackson used the word "posse" to describe James and his managerial crew in one recent interview, according to Slam Online.

The word said to have had "racial undertones" when Jackson mentioned it and so the three-time NBA champion and his business partner Maverick Carter are reportedly "enraged" by it. James' anger came to a point that LeBron told reporters he had lost respect for the 11-time NBA champion coach while Carter almost described Jackson as a racist.

Jackson uttered the controversial remarks in a recent interview with renowned sports columnist Jackie MacMullan, which was about James' exit from the Miami Heat in 2014 and its repercussions to the franchise and to team president Pat Riley's tenure.

Apparently, Jackson's words also hurt his team's leader, Anthony, who is a close personal friend of James.

"I would never want to hear that word about me and my, I don't want to say crew, but people that I consider family or people that I come up, been through thick and thin with," said Anthony in reaction to his team president's comments. "I'd want to be called a tight-knit group or family. That's what I consider those close people to me."

Chat Sports Net reported that this sudden feud might end up with Anthony requesting a trade to the Cavaliers as the two sides may not be able to regain their mutual trust again.

However, one of the biggest hurdles to trading Anthony is the other team's willingness to accept his high salary.

The Cavs are rumored to be searching for a team to trade Kevin Love to as the power forward is deemed as an ill-fit to James and Kyrie Irving. An Anthony-Love swap would solve the salary-matching issues.
