Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has announced that its latest device dubbed as the Gionee A1 is now available in Nigeria. The Gionee A1 smartphone was initially launched in China in February.

The launch of the Gionee A1 smartphone in Nigeria was headed by Gionee Marketing Director Somoye Habeeb. He stated at the event that the new phone boasts of a long battery life and a special focus on enhanced photo quality for selfies.

The Gionee A1 smartphone comes with a 5.50-inch display screen with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 MT6755 processor clocked at a speed of 2GHz paired with 4GB of RAM onboard. The device is equipped with a built-in 64GB of internal memory storage, which can be expanded up to a massive 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.

In the photography department, the Gionee A1 smartphone sports a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies. It runs on the Android 7.0 (Nougat) operating system out of the box and is fueled by non-removable 4010 mAh capacity battery.

Other features the Gionee A1 smartphone offers include a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) that accepts Nano-SIM and Micro-SIM. The device's connectivity options include GPS, Wi-Fi, USB OTG, Bluetooth, FM, 3G, and 4G. The sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Compass Magnetometer, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope. It measures a body dimension 154.50 mm x 76.50 mm x 8.30 mm and weighs around 183.00 grams.
