The Legend of Korra game is a third-person brawler that allows gamers to control the main character, Korra, and her ability to alter the four elements or modes: Earth, Water, Air and Fire.
Gamers can switch between these modes at any time and can combine them to perform special combo moves.
Earth-Bending allows Korra to move slowly but surely powerfully. Water-Bending allows her to perform long-range attacks.
Air-Bending makes Korra move faster and perform both close and long-range strikes at her enemies, while Fire-Bending increases her speed level.
In this upcoming game, players also get a chance to ride Korra's polar bear dog, Naga.
Writer Tim Hedrick of the Animated TV series joined the development team and is directly responsible for writing the game's script alongside creators of the original animated series, Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino.
They have been working on the plot and the main villainous character for the upcoming game. Voice actors of the animated series are also collaborating with the team.
Platinum Games, famous for developing Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance video games, were chosen for the task due to their skill in developing smooth and flashy styled action games, said Robert Conkey of Activision.
The Legend of Korra TV series was unknown in Japan in the beginning, but Platinum chose to participate after watching a translated version for the first time. Platinum was impressed by the series' story and action romance, said Atsushi Kurooka, Producer of Platinum Games.
