The Moto Droid Turbo is a powerful smartphone with killer specs. Droid is a brand name for handsets from Motorola available exclusively on Verizon Wireless network.

In August of 2013, Motorola released three Droid phones for Verizon Wireless, namely Droid Maxx, Droid Ultra and Droid Mini. Motorola hasn't launched any Droid smartphone so far this year.

The Verizon Droid Turbo surfaced on Android Authority through the CPU-Z app in August. The app revealed a lot of details about the device and though the leaked photos may be fake, the launch of the device could be imminent as Motorola and Verizon posted teasers on its DroidLanding official Twitter account.

The model number is reportedly XT1254 (quark_Verizon).

The Droid Turbo will feature a 5.2-inch touchscreen with QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution and 3 GB of RAM. It will sport a 20 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front one.

The handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with 2.65 GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 420 GPU. It will likely have a 32 GB internal storage with Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, a compass and a gyroscope. Its operating system will be Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

Motorola has not confirmed anything about the Droid Turbo right now but on Friday, it will launch Moto X 2014 on Verizon's network.
