Roy Hibbert could be dealt before the start of the new season, as the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Indiana Pacers are still talking about a potential blockbuster trade that would send the All-Star center to Ohio, a reliable league source reported on Wednesday.
Tyler Spence, a Sacramento sports radio anchor, revealed the Cavs and Pacers are in discussion of a possible four-team trade with Hibbert headlining what could be a colossal trade this fall.

The 27-year old Hibbert has been a subject of trade speculations all offseason after his big collapse he had towards the end of the regular-season.
The two-time All-Star had a terrific start for the 2013-14 season, anchoring the Pacers to become the best defense in the league. However, his production after the All-Star game suddenly took a sharp plunge and his lackluster play on both ends of the floor put the Pacers in tough situation last season.
Trade rumors surrounding Hibbert vamped up in August, following a gruesome leg injury to Paul George during a Team USA exhibition match. According to reports, Indiana attempted to package Hibbert for Slovenian point guard Goran Dragic of the Phoenix Suns, but this deal never gained traction.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers have been trying to acquire a rim protector ever since they formed their new 'Big 3' of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. Although they are loaded with weapons on the offensive of the floor, the Cavs are still not considered a clear-cut favorite to win the championship because of the big void they have in the middle of their defense.
While center Anderson Verajao can provide double-double numbers when healthy, the Brazilian big has been injury prone these past three seasons and is not known as a player who can protect the rim. The Cavs attempted to solve the issue by trading for Russian center Timofey Mozgov, but the Denver Nuggets wanted more assets in return.
According to Spence, the Cavs previously dangled a package consists of Dion Waiters, Brandon Haywood's salary-friendly non-guaranteed deal worth $10M and a first-rounder for Hibbert, but now have second thought in offering the third-year guard.
In order for the Cavs to absorb Hibbert's huge contract (about $15M for this season), a conduit team is necessary to keep the deal within the financial restrictions set forth by the current collective bargaining agreement.
"Complications in Roy Hibbert deal are obviously salaries. Most likely a 3rd or 4th team will need to be involved if a deal is to get done," according to T-Spence.
