The Sony Xperia Z3 is said to have a couple of tricks up its sleeve, particularly the standout battery life and camera. However, it has too much in common with the Xperia Z2. The Z3 inherits the 5.2-inch full HD Triluminos panel with X-Reality, the 2.5 GHz quad-core processor which was upgraded from 2.3 GHz and the Snapdragon 801 chip MSM8974AC which was upgraded from MSM8974AB.

Like the Z2, the Xperia Z3 also has a 20.7 MP camera and Android 4.4 KitKat OS out of the box.

The Xperia Z3 design has a more premium feel due to its matte metal edges and nylon corners that make it less prone to damage if dropped. However, like previous Z series models, the phone is still not bold with varied aesthetic.

The Xperia Z3 features a dust and water resistant exterior with Sony's Android interface. It can support 8x digital zoom, HDR, Burst Mode and image stabilizer with a video camera that can record 4K videos.

The Xperia Z3 will be released in Canada soon. According to reports, a Canadian consumer pre-ordered the Xperia Z3 Compact in Toronto and its quoted price is US$599.99 with the bigger Xperia Z3 priced at US$699.99. The Xperia Z3 will be available in TELUS, Bell, Rogers, MTS, SaskTel and WIND Mobile. These prices are the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z2 prices when first released.

The pre-order window in Canada reportedly went live by mistake but Sony said the pre-orders inadvertently taken on Oct. 1 will be honored. The Xperia Z3 will be out in Canada on Oct. 31 and the Xperia Z3 is expected to follow soon.
