Apple recently launched the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus along with the highly anticipated Apple Watch. How do these devices stack-up against the Sony Xperia Z3?

The new iPhone 6 is taller, wider and thinner than previous iPhone models. It sports dimensions of 138.1 x 67 x 6.9 mm while the Sony Xperia Z3 measures 146 x 72 x 7.3 mm.

The iPhone 6 doesn't have a feature that protects the device against water or dust damage, something the Xperia Z3 offers. The iPhone 6 is covered by shatterproof glass while the Xperia Z3 is certified with IP 68 and IP 65 water resistance for about 30 minutes to a depth of 1.5 meters and dust-tight protection.

The iPhone 6 sports a 4.7-inch LED-backlit IPS display with 750 x 1334 pixels screen resolution and 326 ppi pixel density. On the other hand, Xperia Z3 has a 5.2-inch display.

Apple and Sony both offer entertainment features such as iTunes and Walkman. While iPhone 6 is compatible with Beats accessories, Xperia Z3 has the Digital Noise Cancellation technology with its dedicated headset.

The iPhone 6 gaming is reliant on downloadable apps at the Apple Store while the Xperia Z3 is supported in PlayStation 4. With the use of a Dualshock4 controller with the Remote Play app, Z3 users can play games via their handsets.

The iPhone 6 is powered by the new 64-bit A8 chip with the M8 motion coprocessor. Not much is still known about the A8 SoC and benchmark tests are needed before people know about its clock speed, number of cores and system memory.

The Xperia Z3, on the other hand, uses a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

The iPhone 6 has an 8 megapixel iSight lens with f/2.2 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization module while the Xperia Z3 features a 20.7 megapixel G lens rear camera and ½.3 Exmore RS mobile imaging sensor.
