The HTC One M8 2014 was out in March and the Sony Xperia Z3 was launched at the IFA 2014 event in September. People who are choosing between the HTC One M8 and the Sony Xperia Z3 should check their features, specs and price comparison here.

While both the HTC and Sony devices have full HD resolution displays, the HTC One M8 has a sharper offer than Sony with a few more pixels packed in its smaller display. The HTC One M8 has a 5-inch display while the Xperia Z3 comes with a 5.2-inch display with both devices having a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The HTC One M8 has 441 ppi pixel density while the Xperia Z3 has 423 ppi.

The displays are both LCD but HTC features a Super LCD3 technology while the Xperia Z3 features its Triluminos, Live Color LED and X-Reality technologies.

Both smartphones have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Krait 400 processor but the HTC One M8 is clocked at 2.3 GHz while the Xperia Z3 is clocked at 2.5 GHz. The One M8 also has 2 GB of RAM while the Xperia Z3 boasts of a 3 GB of RAM.

The HTC One M8 runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgradable to 4.4.3 with HTC Sense version 6 UI. On the other hand, the Xperia Z3 runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The One M8 and Xperia Z3 both offer 16 GB and 32 GB in-built storage with microSD card support for expansion of up to 128 GB. The 16 GB 4G LTE variant of the HTC One M8 costs AU$599.95 while the 16 GB 4G LTE Sony Xperia Z3 is priced at AU$799.95.
