PS4, Xbox One Battle for 1080p

(Photo : The Witcher 3) Sony and Microsoft both want to one-up each other with the new multi-platform game releases coming in the holiday season.
In an effort to keep the video game console momentum going, developers have started issuing statements about what how their game will run on each platform, before the holiday season starts.
Sony's PS4 has always been the slightly more powerful console, capable of running most games at 1080p, while Microsoft's Xbox One releases stick to 900p. When it comes to frames per second, some developers are providing 60fps, while others are only offering 30fps on console.

Here is a list of the upcoming games with resolution and frames per second:
-
Assassin's Creed: Unity will run at 900p/30fps on the Xbox One and PS4.
-
Far Cry 4 will run at 1080p/30fps on PS4, expected to be the same on Xbox One.
-
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will run at 900p/60fps, according to gameplay testers.
-
Dragon Age: Inquisition will run at 1080p on PS4, 900p on Xbox One, no word on FPS.
-
Mortal Kombat X, PES 15, FIFA 15 and Battlefield: Hardline will run at 1080p/60fps on both consoles.
-
The Crew, The Order: 1886 and The Division will run at 1080p/30fps on both consoles.
One of the most interesting things to take away from this is Ubisoft does not care about 60fps. The team working on Assassin's Creed already said they want 30fps for a more "cinematic feel", similar to what developers Ready of Dawn said with The Order: 1886.
This has not been well received by gamers, who want to be able to play 60fps on all games. It also looks like some developers are willing to sacrifice the extra power of the PS4, in favor of making both consoles equal in power, we hope this does not rub off onto the PC.
Fortunately, some developers like CD Projekt Red, Bioware and Sledgehammer Games will look to have 60fps on their title, along with 1080p for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Resolution or frames per second continues to be a hot subject, with some claiming 30fps is acceptable if we get 1080p, while others saying it doesn't matter if it hits 900p as long as 60fps is attained to give a smoother experience.
This will continue to be a big subject until developers are capable of hitting both on console.
