(Photo : lolesports) Samsung White, the South Korean finalist for League of Legends: Season 4 Worlds, has won $1 million at the largest event in eSports history.

The biggest tournament in eSports history took place this past weekend, with South Korean favorites Samsung Galaxy White winning the $1 million prize. The event was held in the Sangnam Stadium in Seoul, with more than 40,000 people in attendance.

The best-of-five series lasted four games, with Samsung White beating China's Star Horn Royal Club three games to one. Samsung White were looking to win the quickest final ever in Worlds' history, but in Game 3 fell to an aggressive early-game Star Horn Royal Club, with InSec bringing Rammus into the Jungle and Cola coming up big on Maokai.

It was not enough, however, to stop Samsung White from grabbing the final win at 22:54. Samsung White put together smart team-compositions in all three of their wins, with the final game drafting Kassadin for Looper in Top and Rengar for DanDy in the Jungle.

The MVP for the entire event was Mata, the support player for Samsung White. He has been a powerful part of the Samsung White team with incredible shot calling and the ability to play multiple champions at the highest-level, along with superb vision control.

Samsung White will receive $1 million for winning Season 4 Worlds, the same amount as SKT T1K for their win in Season 3. Star Horn Royal Club will walk away with $250,000 and $750,00 will be split between the other 14 competitors for Season 4 Worlds.

This is the same prize pool Riot Games offered in Season 3 Worlds, deciding against raising the price pool. Valve raised the prize-pool for DoTA 2 with a Compendium crowd-funding program, adding more than $10 million to the prize-pool for the winning Chinese team.

Riot Games has not specified where they will go for Season 5 Worlds, but it is likely to take place in China. China's three major streaming outlets had over 3 million concurrent viewers watching the final; in the West more than 500,000 people watched the final on Twitch.TV, Azubu, Dailymotion and ESPN3.

The eSports side of League of Legends will be dormant for a few months, until Champions Winter and Spring splits begin. Roster changes in all regions are expected and have already begun, with contracts ending between October and December for most players.

On the player side, Riot Games is currently working on a new visual update to League of Legends, expected to arrive in time for the next season. Updates to North American servers, the rollout of a Japanese server and a huge merchandise store are all said to be coming by 2015.
