Apple iPhone 6 Plus vs. Google Nexus 6: Features, Specs and Price Showdown

Google revealed new info about the new Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Android 5.0 Lollipop and Nexus Player a day before Apple's iPad event.

Based on this, we'll compare the Apple iPhone 6 Plus and the Google Nexus 6 for the benefit of those choosing between the two devices.

The Nexus 6 comes with a 5.9-inch display, which beats the iPhone 6 Plus' 5.5-inch one. The Nexus 6 display has a 2560 x 1440 resolution and 493 ppi pixel density while the iPhone 6 plus has a 1920 x 1080 display resolution and 401 ppi.

The Google Nexus 6 also features a 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with Adreno 420 graphics and 3 GB of RAM while the iPhone 6 Plus has a custom-built 64-bit A8 processor with M8 motion co-processor and 1 GB of RAM.

The Nexus 6 offers two storage capacity options: 32 GB and 64 GB with no microSD slot support. The iPhone 6 Plus also does not offer memory expansion support but it comes in three storage variants: 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB options.

The iPhone 6 Plus has the fingerprint sensor technology not found on the Nexus 6. Another iPhone 6 Plus advantage is its dual front speakers the Nexus 6 also lacks. 

The Google Nexus 6 boasts of a 13 megapixel rear camera with a 2 megapixel front snapper while the iPhone 6 Plus has an 8 megapixel rear camera with a 1.2 megapixel front one.

While the iPhone 6 Plus has a smaller 2915 mAh battery compared to 3220 mAh battery, reports claim the former lasts longer because of its more efficient energy components.

The Nexus 6 price starts at US$649 without contract while the iPhone 6 Plus starts at US$749.
