Rockstar plans to hold off gamers until the GTA new-gen console release on Nov. 18 by releasing a remastered version of "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Rumors began circulating about the potential remaster of San Andreas when users were no longer able to purchase the Xbox Classics version from the Xbox 360 store, as well as not being able to purchase it in the PlayStation store.

This week also marks the 10th anniversary of San Andreas as Rockstar announced the GTA V "San Andreas Anniversary Weekend Event."
Although it was imminent a newer version of San Andreas was coming, Rockstar hasn't officially confirmed that - until now.
Rockstar announced in an article posted on their support forums that San Andreas would be replacing Xbox Originals Version in GTA's Games on Demand. According to the report, San Andreas will be available for purchase on the Xbox Marketplace again on Oct. 26, which is only a couple days away.
The newly remastered version of San Andreas will reportedly feature 720p HD resolution and enhanced draw distances, which leads to better graphics and a much more clear and detailed image. The picture difference should be like changing from a regular TV to an HDTV.
Additionally, Rockstar has also announced the new San Andreas Achievement List, which can be seen below, and mentioned 11 more secret achievements will be added.
It's also worth noting that the San Andreas version available on Games on Demand is not compatible with the Xbox Originals version. This means that gamers won't be able to transfer their previous saved files and will need to begin a new game.
