Motorola recently launched a replacement for the Moto X 2013 with upgraded specs and features still compatible with its predecessor.

The Moto X 2013 received the Android 4.4 KitKat before the Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 4. It could be the same for this year's Moto X.

The Moto X's Moto Voice feature allows users to name their device any way they like and the device will respond to its assigned name. Motorola's question, "What's in a name?" shows the significance of names to Moto X handset users.

The Moto X's display also had changes in the Active Display. The Moto Assist scope was amplified and now has text-to-speech conversion support.

The gesture-based Moto Actions feature was also upgraded with new IR sensors that allow the users to use gestures for select features.

The Moto X 2013 and Moto X 2014 are very similar and customizing the rear covers through the Moto Maker website is possible with the new 2014 model. The unibody chassis has been retained, as well, but Motorola enhanced the device's look by using an aluminum frame.

The Moto X is a powerful handset that offers stock Android experience with a 5.2-inch Amoled display and 1080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution.

The new Moto X is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Krait 400 processor which is clocked at 2.5 GHz processing speed and 2 GB of RAM.

The Moto X 2014 comes with a 2300 mAh battery, 16 GB and 32 GB of internal storage capacity without microSD card support, 13 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front camera and NFC. The Moto X has a waterproof coat to endure accidental drops in water and spills.
