"Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" gamers have already experienced glitches when preloading the game, but now multiple reports from gamers citing lag problems in online gameplay to the point that it's becoming impossible to play.
Complaints have piled up on Activision's social media accounts and other official forums, and although the lag problems have been reported across all platforms, it seems the PC and PlayStation 4 is getting the bulk of complaints.

There are even multiple YouTube videos showing examples of the lag in action. The video titled "Advance Warfare Working as Intended" shows a gamer shooting his automatic weapon at an enemy for nearly 10 seconds to no avail and actually ended up dying.
Activision should have followed suit to Bungie's "Destiny" as an example of how to run a smooth online launch. Bungie held an open Beta for gamers to test its servers before officially releasing the game, and hasn't received any major issues.
What online gamers need now that would certainly help with the lagging is the support of dedicated servers that Co-founder of Sledgehammer Games Michael Condrey announced just before the release of "Advanced Warfare." However, there's not much details describing when dedicated servers will be implemented.
"Yes, we will be supporting dedicated servers and there will be announcements soon on which providers and platforms," Condrey said in an interview. "I can't answer just yet, but you can let your community know that it's coming,"
Dedicated servers are considered by many gamers to be the best option when experiencing online gameplay. They allow users to connect to the server closest to their location, instead of relying on a peer-to-peer Internet connection.
The result is a more balanced experience with much less lagging and no hosting advantages. With new features like the exoskeleton capable of boost jumping, dodging and sliding, online gameplay needs to be as smooth as possible. Supporting dedicated servers should certainly be Activision and Sledgehammer Games' next main priority.
