Nokia Lumia 735: Verizon Selfie Phone Passes FCC

(Photo : Microsoft) Microsoft is set to announce their first Lumia device without the Nokia branding next week, bringing an end to Nokia as a smartphone manufacturer.
Microsoft launched the Nokia Lumia 735 last September and the handset was recently seen on the website of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission.
The device has cleared the FCC and apparently supports Verizon network frequencies. This means interested customers in the United States can get the handset from Verizon. The Lumia 735 also supports Big Red's LTE connectivity.

Windows Phone users on Verizon don't have a lot of budget-friendly option but they'll soon have Microsoft's Lumia 735 that recently passed FCC's regulatory test with Verizon cellular frequencies and LTE data.
The handset is packed with HSPA+ and GSM for international trips. This filing could allow Verizon to ship the smartphone before 2014 ends, but reports claim it won't be released this year.
Microsoft and Verizon haven't announced an official release date yet but rumors say the Lumia 735 smartphone will soon be out due to the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.
There's still not much solid info as to when the device will hit stores. Based on the device's specs and features, some speculate it will come with a budget-friendly price tag.
If it's priced higher like the Lumia 830 though, it could disappoint. The Lumia 735 was released in several regions and in UK. It sells for 159.99 GBP or US$256.
The Nokia Lumia 735 has a 4.7-inch Amoled display with 720 x 1280 pixels screen resolution. It's powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Cortex-A7 chip clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM.
It runs Windows Phone 8.1 and comes with a 6.7 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and Carl Zeiss lens and a 5 megapixel front camera.
The device is equipped with 8 GB of internal memory with microSD card support for up to 128 GB of expansion. The battery is a 2200 mAh unit.
