Nebraska Cornhuskers Head Football Coach, Mark "Bo" Pelini, has just been fired by Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst and the players are not happy with the decision.
After the seven-year run of the polarizing coaching figure of Nebraska football, Pelini was fired last Sunday.

"We weren't good enough in the games that mattered," Eichorst said in his meeting with the media that lasted nearly 35 minutes. "I didn't see that changing at the end of the day."
He added that he will not be using a search firm to assist him in finding the next coach for Nebraska.
He also adds that it isn't a day of celebration for him. He references the numerous players in Nebraska - young and talented players he says - who are hurting due to the decision.
No comments were given either about the search for the people involved or the process as well. He declined to comment whether or not he would value Nebraska ties or head-coaching experience in a candidate as well.
One thing is certain though for Eichorst; it is that Nebraska has everything they need to be successful at the highest level.
While Eichorst is optimistic about the future of Nebraska football, the players are indeed hurting and have turned to social media to let their voices be heard on the decision.
Starting quarterback Tommy Armstrong, Jr. said that, "it was the biggest mistake you have ever made. Bo was the best coach I've ever had and I'll always appreciate the things you taught me."
Defensive tackle Vincent Valentine Jr. weighed in on the situation as well and said that he doesn't see how this decision could make the program any better. He actually sees that it will make it worse.
The current players are not the only ones who are irked by the situation. Recruits interested in playing for Nebraska are also affected.
Liam Eichenber, for instance, a four-star offensive line recruit who had an offer out from Nebraska, just shared a picture wherein he was throwing away his letter for Nebraska.
