(Photo : Reuters) Comcast has continued its blockade of HBO Go on Sony's platforms.
The Xbox One launched in China last month, but general reception to the game console has been mixed. Thousands of people bought the console, but have been unhappy with the lack of games and services available at launch.
It's Sony's turn to enter the restrictive console market, confirming the PS4 will launch in the region on Jan 11. The launch comes after China lifted restrictions on gaming consoles, after a 14-year ban.

The PS4 will go on sale for C$2,899 ($468) and Sony will sell it alongside the PS4 controller and cables. Sony did not confirm if PlayStation Move will be available in the region.
Sony does have an issue of lack of titles available in China, due to current restrictions on some U.S. video games. The Japanese based company might have to work with Chinese game studios, to beef up the launch lineup.
According to Sina Weibo, the PS4 launch titles will consist of:
- Knack
- Driveclub
- LittleBigPlanet 3
- Trials Fusion
- Rayman Legends
- Final Fantasy X/X2 HD Remake
- Warframe
Microsoft had similar problems last month, when the Xbox One came with a small selection of available titles and missing some entertainment services-which Microsoft had marketed before the official launch.
The Chinese video game market is extremely lucrative, with game revenues surpassing $14 billion this year. Companies like Tencent Holdings, NetEase and Shanda Entertainment make billions from PC gamers in China.
League of Legends and DoTA 2 have outstanding viewership in China, each holding over 5 million active players. It might be hard for the Xbox One and PS4's major titles, like Destiny and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, to gain exposure in the market, if China even accepts the new titles.
Sony recently hit 15 million PS4 sales, according to VGChartz, Microsoft managed 9 million sales in that time. Most reports from the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales indicate the Xbox One beat the PS4.
