Robert Griffin III, quarterback of the National Football League's (NFL) Washington Redskins, will have another chance to start for his team as starter Colt McCoy aggravated a neck injury.

Griffin was benched three weeks ago, but returned to the lineup Sunday afternoon against the New York Giants. Earlier in that game, McCoy hurt his neck that caused him to leave the game after the first series.

Griffin then came in and complete 18 of 27 passes for 236 yards and threw one touchdown. However, it just was not enough, as the Giants still beat the Redskins (24-13). This was the sixth straight game for the Redskins.

With McCoy injured though and Griffin waiting in the wings, Head Coach Jay Gruden is still not sure who will start against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday. He is investigating how badly McCoy aggravated his neck first.

"[Griffin] is obviously in the mix. He came out here and competed, which I liked," Gruden said. "Made some good throws and made some great plays with his legs, but from a consistent standpoint, the production on third downs and the lack of production in the second half [offensively] was concerning."

He will have to check the film to give Griffin a total grade he adds.

Griffin though is not daunted by the occurrence. He says that no matter what the decision will be, he will be ready.

After a loss to the San Francisco 49ers though, Griffin was benched again. The Redskins now have to decide on a fifth-year option by May 3. While they could decide to trade him, they could also keep him on see what progress he makes after another offseason.

McCoy came in for Griffin against the 49ers and completed four of seven passes for 39 yards. He ran two times as well for 24 yards on the opening drive which resulted in a field goal.
