Louis Koo: Hong Kong's Richest Entertainer of 2014 Earmed $38.6 Million

HK Entertainment Industry Annual Richest Actor: Louis Koo earns $38.6 Million

Hong Kong actor Louis Koo Tin Lok is the Hong Kong entertainment industry's wealthiest actor of 2014. With 14 movies, 10 advertisements, and countless commercial performances, Koo earned HK$300 million (about $38.6 million) in total for the year.

In 2014, there are four actors on "one-hundred-millionaire list" of HK entertainment industry, including Louis Koo, Chow Yun fat, Nicholas Tse, and Aaron Kwok.

There are fourteen movies of Koo released or participated in this year, including "Hello Babies", "Aberdeen", "Overheard 3", "Z Storm", "Don't Go Breaking My Heart 2", "An Inspector Calls", "12 Golden Ducks", "Hustle", "Paris Holiday", "Little Big Master", "Golden Chicken", "3D Naked Ambition", "A Choo". If it is counted with HK$18 million ($2.3 million) remuneration for one movie, Koo's income of movies this year reaches HK$200 million ($25.8 million). He also took 10 endorsement deals and a variety of commercial performances, Koo's income of the year is over HK$300 million ($38.6 million).

Chow Yun Fat's movies of this year are "The Man from Macau," "The Man from Macau 2," "Gorgeous Office Workers," and "The Monkey King." Chow's remuneration is very high; he totally earns HK$170 million ($22 million) with only four movies.

Nicholas Tse made three movies this year, "The Man from Macau," "But Always," and "As the Light Goes Out." He also hosted a variety show "Chef Nic" and took 11 advertisements, earning HK$120 million ($15.5 million). Even though it is only half of Koo's income, the number is only the net profit of Tse as an actor without the profit of his seven companies.

Aaron Kwok earns HK$130 million ($16.7) with three movies, three advertisements, and the income of being a judge on variety show "So You Think You can Dance," and his London concert as well as 10 commercial performances.

Hong Kong's music queens, Kelly Chan and Joey Yung are on the top ten of the annual richest artists list with HK$83 million ($10.7 million) and HK$80 million ($10.3 million), respectively. Cecilia Cheung, Nicholas Tse's former wife, also earns a lot this year, around HK$70 million ($ 9 million).
