Move over Princess Anna and Princess Elsa From Frozen, Taylor Swift has taken over the throne as her album "1989" eventually became the top-selling album of the year.

According to Billboard, Swift's album sales surpassed Frozen's album sales in the last week of 2014.

Approximately 9 weeks after its release, Swift's album sold 3.66 million copies thus surpassing Frozen's sales of 3.53 million.

The soundtrack album for the movie Frozen remained at the #1 spot in the top selling album of the year until the last week of 2014.

Swift's album, "1989" was in the #1 spot for the 7th time in the U.S. Billboard Top 200 chart.

By December 28, the overall earnings were 430,000. That includes 326,000 album copies and 1 million songs in total.According to Nielsen Soundscan's figures, the first song which was in the chart topping album was "Shake It Off".

It was launched in August, along with her new album. The music video which featured Swift dancing in several styles also caught the eye of the audience aside from its catchy tune.
