Ariana Grande brought her 'Honeymoon Tour' to New York City on Friday night, performing in front of a sold-out crowd and the 21-year old songstress was reduced to tears after she sang her hit song 'The Way' in front of screaming fans.

Just nine months ago Grande was hiding behind the shadow of her Nickelodeon character Sam, of the hit show 'Sam and Cat' which she starred in along side Victoria Justice, since then she has released two back to back albums, worked with the likes of Iggy Azelea, Jessie J and Mac Miller, she has also been dating rapper Big Sean who she worked with for her 'My Everything' album.

The Honeymoon tour is the first major touring effort for the popstar. She arrived at the venue wearing a glittery number that had cut outs on the sides as well as a plunging neckline.

She opened the night with Big Bang firing high speed melisma's as fireworks lit up the stadium which had fans screaming even before the star came out on stage.

Some tour critics have not been nice to the star with some calling her fake and too staged. Those comments however did not stop the star from doing a stellar performance during Friday nights show.

Aside from touring, the star has also been busy promoting pet adoption, just a few days ago she visited a pet adoption center in the City. She also dropped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where she did a skit and also showcased her talent for imitating Celine Dion.
