Just a few days after its PC release, the modding community has already made short work of Rockstar Games' flagship title, "Grand Theft Auto V," hauling out as many game mods as creative and artistic fans could imagine.
Modding has always been an exciting and important part of PC gaming, and open-ended, RPG type games like GTAV are among the most modified. Fans who have access to mod-building programs do everything from taking care of a few bugs the game's manufacturers might have missed to changing the game's graphics and play style. What a modder who calls himself NTAuthority discovered, on the other hand, takes things to the next level: including entire custom maps to the game.

NTAuthority used the method he discovered to add old GTA locales and cityscapes to the main game. As a proof, he even included a screenshot of an area from GTA: London with his post. Soon enough, other modders followed suit, incorporating "ghost towns" from other games within the franchise, including "GTA III."
Nevertheless, despite the boundless opportunities that this new mod prospect presents, GTA V modders have been relentlessly creating new content aimed at customizing gamer experience as creatively as possible. For instance, IGN writes about a Star Wars mod that gives players the power of the Force, and basically turns San Andreas into a sci-fi inspired landscape. There is even a Death Star looming overhead (in place of the moon) for full effect.
The same IGN article sheds some light on the modding community's stranger side. Fans of "GTA: San Andreas," who basically shares the same city map as GTAV, will remember that aside from the typical urban, high-rise scenes, the game is brimming with wilderness and desert areas the player can explore in their entirety.
GTAV modders saw fit to exemplify the game's natural wonders by allowing players to mount a deer like they would a horse (not that there's a lot of horse riding in GTA games in the first place). Combine these with skin mods where players can change their appearance and it makes for some pretty hilarious gameplay.
