With a star studded squad that includes Neymar.Jr and David Luiz, Brazil surely had the edge to dictate the pace of this game. After a successful 2014-15 campaign by Neymar Jr. on his club Barcelona FC, who came up with the elusive treble. He got a daunting task ahead to lead his native Brazil in this on-going 2015 Copa America.
Unfortunately, Peru got the first goal of the game due to neglect of their Brazilian goal keeper Jefferson who failed to clear the poor back pass from Luiz, allowing Christian Cueva to complete his attempt on the goal.
Suddenly trailing by 1-0 in the early stages of the game at the Estadio Municipal Bicenterio German Becker, Brazilian poster boy Neymar Jr. resisted to give up, as he scored the equalizer off a volley pass from club teammate Dani Alves.
The succeeding minutes wasn't pretty at all for both teams as both Valenzuela and Brazil had a hard time finding the net. Neymar jr. who mesmerized the crowd with his amazing ball control, had great look at the goal in three separate occasions but never converted these scoring opportunities.
However, their sheer determination paid off, as they finally got the winning goal deep into the second half, courtesy of Brazilian attacking-midfielder and FC Shaktar Donetsk star Douglas Costa.
Meanwhile, Group C side Colombia and Venezuela had a shocking result. Noel Sanvicente's side might be the underdog on this fixture compared to their star-studded opponent Colombia, who are fourth-place in the FIFA rankings, but the game said it all.
Surprising Venezuela outplayed their opponents in this game, as Salamon Ramdon led the team to a shocking 1-0 victory over the stronger Colombians led by Real Madrid CF star James Rodriguez, the conteroversial star Radamel Falcao and Chelsea FC Juan Cuadrado, via Bleacher Report.
While their loss came as shocking to most football fans, Colombia were simply not in their best form from the get-go and committing just few mistakes at this level were enough for any team to capitalize.
