Liverpool FC and Manchester United are on the bid for the 23-year old Brazilian. The Red Devils are believed interested in signing Firmino this summer transfer window, with a €25 million price tag for his signature.

During his time at the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena, Firmino proved that he is one of the outstanding and prominent players on the team, as he delivered a memorable 2013-14 season by scoring 16 goals and 12 assist only in Bundesliga play. He also added 6 goals more in DFB-Pokal, finishing with 22 goals in all competitions, according to ESPN FC.

While he's currently playing in 2015 Copa America for his native Brazil, Firmino was no doubt the talk of the town  as more ball clubs - including the elite ones - expressed great interest to sign him for the 2015-16 season.

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is looking forward to get Firmino, believing the shifty Brazilian midfielder could be a very important piece for the Red Devils in future campaigns. With new recruit from PSV Eindhoven Memphis Depay, the Dutch manager believes he can add more depth and add some more quality attacking forwards.

Liverpool, on the other hand, is looking for some insurance the moment Raheem Sterling leaves the team. According to sources close to situation, the ongoing talks between Sterling and Manchester City are heating up and football pundits are already predicting the deal to get done in the next few weeks.

Liverpool targeted Firmino because he shares the same qualities with Sterling, who is dynamic on counter-attacks. While Liverpool FC are still weighing if they will put their 100% intention to sign Fermino, Rodgers cleared that Sterling's impending departure is not the reason why he is seeking for another attacking midfielder.

"The Reds have been strongly linked with Brazilian attacker Firmino as they look for a replacement for Raheem Sterling. Manchester United are also known to be huge admirers, but reports say Liverpool are close to bringing the attacker to Anfield. It's claimed a £15million transfer is close to being completed, while Times football editor and Liverpool insider Tony Evans has confirmed interest," according to the Metro.co.uk.
