Verizon Droid Turbo is the first flagship phone from Motorola to receive the Lollipop update. The latest version contains all the changes that belonged to Android 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2 and 5.1 while it should be mentioned that previously the handset had the KitKat firmware.
Droid Turbo users will be able to directly update from KitKat to Lollypop 5.1, which the new update features functions like lock screen notifications, innovative ART runtime and flashlight toggle facility that is added on the quick settings, according to Tech Times.
Verizon Droid Turbo update is modified differently from other Android Lollipop 5.1 updates as users will experience the integrated Android Lollipop update where Moto Assist and Downtime and Moto Display features are highly noticeable, UK Marketing News reported.
A portion of these functions were available on the Verizon Droid Turbo KitKat version but Motorola has significantly changed the interface, removed the bugs and developed the apps with ease of use.
The major issue is the quick battery-draining problem while some users also claimed that the data speed falls or slows down after updating the firmware. Turbo charging speed is also disappointing; however, Verizon has not reacted regarding the solution of these problems.
Motorola Droid Turbo features 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 565 pixels per inch density and sports screen resolution displays of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution. The hardware segment is packed with powerful Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz with 3GB of RAM.
There is no external storage capacity but users will be able to store data in its 32GB internal storage. The battery is powered by 3,900 mAh that packs about 28 days of standby time while its primary camera stores 20.7MP sensor whereas the front camera has 2MP sensor.
The price of the device from Verizon carrier is $499.99 off-contract while customers can receive the contract facility with $99.99 on two-year contract.
