It was previously reported that Capcom has confirmed a go signal to develop "Resident Evil 2" remake for the new generation of gaming consoles - PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC platform. "Resident Evil" game producer Yoshiaki Hirabayoshi has successfully presented his case of the development of the "RE2" remake as he is now authorized to lead the project with Capcom's R&D Division 1.

With the "Resident Evil 2" remake officially in development, gaming fans are wondering what will happen to the fan made "RE2" game from InvaderGames.
According to VG 24/7, InvaderGames has officially ceased production for "Resident Evil 2" fan made game called "Resident Evil 2: Reborn." It is said that fan made "Resident Evil 2: Reborn" will be release sometime in September 2015 and InvaderGames has used the Unreal 4 Engine during its development stages.
PC Gamer noted that "Resident Evil 2: Reborn" features brand new 3D models, particle effects, lighting, updated sound effects, textures, animation and many more. This unofficial remake of "Resident Evil 2" has sparked a major fan crazed for gamers to have a HD version of it.
Capcom has decided that its time for "Residen Evil 2" to have an updated improvements similar to "Resident Evil" HD and "Resident Evil Zero" HD.
Gamerant further adds that it was Capcom who made the request to shut down all operations regarding "Resident Evil 2: Reborn" knowing full well that the real "Resident Evil 2" remake project is on the way. The website noted that Capcom did not bullied or harassed InvaderGames about it, but they were informed about the project ahead of time.
But what is most intriguing about this is that Capcom invited InvaderGames to discuss future plans and ideas for "Resident Evil 2" as the fan made title could be use a template of some sort to jump start the project.
InvaderGames made the announcement of ceasing all operations to "Resident Evil: Reborn" on their Facebook page, NZGamer reports.

It is unknown yet what kind of role will InvaderGames have on "Resident Evil 2" remake development whether it be for consultation or Capcom will offer them a limited amount of direct control over the project.
