Motorola Mobility flagship smartphone Moto X will definitely receive the Android L update once it's released in the fall.
Motorola and Nexus are the first smartphones to receive Android updates and this because both brands are currently owned and associated with Android maker, Google.

First introduced at the Google I/O Event last June, Android L is currently ready for download in beta or Developer Preview for several Nexus devices.
Another piece of good news for Motorola fans who haven't gotten a hold of the Moto X is that its price dropped recently.
Motorola announced that its low-price deal on the off-contract Moto X smartphone is being extended. The device will be available for only US$299 from US$349 for its 16 GB variety. Analysts say the price cut is a sign the company is already clearing its stocks to make way for the next-gen device.
Rumors emerged that Geekbench unveiled the Moto X series installment with the model number XT1096. The claims suggest that Moto X+1 will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and will be available on shelves at the end of summer, more likely on Sept. 22.
Moto X+1 was also benchmarked, confirming the 801 chipset with a 2.5 GHz quad-core CPU and 2 GB of RAM.
According to rumors, Moto X+1 will have a 5.1-inch or 5.2-inch touchscreen with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution; a 12 megapixel rear camera and dual-LED flash; a 5 megapixel front camera, and a 2900 mAh battery.
It's also speculated Moto X+1 will be launched with the Moto 360 smartwatch.
The new OS is expected to enhance Android devices as it includes a new notification system, an improved UI design, upgraded security framework, bolstered battery consumption through Project Volta and faster processing time.
