The game is going to be a tactical, action game almost similar to the games Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors according to the producer Hisashi Koinuma and director Tomoyuki Kitamura. The game will not follow the same combat style of the "Warriors" game series though and will be a new kind of Omega Force action game. It might be a new step for the development team when it comes to creating the battle gameplay.
It is expected that the game will have huge area levels and will make the players explore the fields of the battlegrounds while fighting their way through different Titans. With huge area levels, there will undoubtedly be item pick ups included in different areas of the level to assist the players in finishing the missions. Cannons that are set on the castle gates can also be utilized. Warehouses are also available and provide the players with weapons and ammunitions.
When it comes to how Omega Force developed the appearance of the characters of the game, it absolutely looks like you're watching the anime while controlling the characters. The characters look exactly the same from the anime, but makes them better and suitable looking for 3D gaming using cel-shaded graphics.
The development of the animation of the characters using steam powered grappling hooks with the 3D Maneuver Gear and applying that on the player control scheme is a really unique, complicated and a fascinating way of developing controls. It will be interesting to see the results and be able to play and control the characters like how we see them in the anime.
The story of the game will exactly be the same as the anime and will not have an original story of its own. It was stated in Comic Book Resources that the story of the game will start from the very beginning just like starting from Episode 1 of the series. This is intended to be done in order for players who are still new to the title to be able to follow the story even though they still haven't watched the series or read the manga.
The game is planned to be released on the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PS Vita with Playstation 4 as the main platform. It will be released first in Japan when winter season starts and on 2016 for other countries.
