The fashion icon's style can be recreated by her fans without the branded price tag. The dress is retailing online for $439, half of its original price. Middleton's gown was by Diane von Furstenberg. The Zarita lace gown in black featured three-quarter length sleeves, floor-grazing full skirt, and a fitted bodice.

The gown was cinched at the waist, with a high neckline and a low-cut back with 'V' detailing. It is a popular dress, and Princess Madeleine of Sweden wore it in navy color back in 2012.

The Duchess paired her look with a black sequinned clutch bag. She accessorized with Lola blue topaz hoop earrings by Kiki McDonough, and her beautiful engagement ring. She wore a pair of matching Jimmy Choo Cosmic platform pumps for the evening look.

Kate, who was pregnant with Princess Charlotte at the time, styled her brunette locks up in a low chignon. The Duchess complemented her chic up-do with smoky eye make-up, blush, and a hint of lip gloss.

The young British royal is closely observed the world over for her effortlessly elegant style. The DVF dress has gone back on sale due to what has been dubbed as the "Kate Effect." It sees her outfits selling out within minutes of being identified.

In May, she caused an increase in the sale of yellow dresses when she wore a bespoke Jenny Packham dress to introduce little Princess Charlotte to the world outside the Lindo Wing, along with her husband Prince William.

Online retailer eBay revealed that in the UK, there has been a 58 percent sales increase for yellow floral patterned dresses following her appearance. In Australia, there has been even more of spike in sale with a 208 percent increase, as well as a 131 percent sales increase for nude Jimmy Choo pumps.
