According to Xinhua, the bridge was built in 1984. However, it fell out of shape and needed to be reinforced for safety reasons.
The workers began replacing it at around 11 p.m. on Friday and ended their at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The overhaul of the bridge was originally planned to take up to 24 hours only. However, the bad condition of the original bridge beams meant the process took longer.
According to reports, the replacement of the Sanyuanqiao Bridge's structure was undertaken at a cost of about 39 million Yuan (6.5 million US dollars).
The video of the replacement of the bridge has gotten positive responses not only from the Chinese citizens but also people worldwide.
"Really remarkable! The city is developing so fast, so we have to deal with its problems with innovation," said @Wangshuaizaiyilake.
@zhongyongzhidao: The project is active, efficient and it is not disturbing to the citizens. I feel really proud.
A foreign viewer has also expressed his amazement when it comes to Chinese infrastructure.
Joydeep Joe Sarkar said, "I've great respect for China when it comes to infrastructure."
The video has garnered more than 2,600,000 views on YouTube so far.
