The ongoing search for creator of cryptocurrency Bitcoin has led investigators to the suburbs of Sydney, Australia. Two new investigations suggest that an Australian businessman used the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, the brains behind Bitcoin.
Two separate investigations, conducted by Wired and Gizmondo, pointed to Australian businessman Craig Steven Wright as the genius behind the development of Bitcoin.

The two publications also reported that Wright developed the cryptocurrency together with American computer forensics analysts Dave Kleiman. The reports claim that Klieman died in April 2013.
A spokesperson for the Australian Federal police said in a statement, "The AFP can confirm it has conducted search warrants to assist the Australian Taxation Office at a residence in Gordon and a business premises in Ryde, Sydney. This matter is unrelated to recent media repording regarding the digital currency Bitcoin."
The Australian Taxation Office did not offer a comment to the issue due to the "confidentiality provisions in the Tax Act."
Bitcoin was launched in 2009, and since then the tech community has been on the hunt for its creator. The cryptocurrency was created by a person or a group of person using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Nakamoto is active in the development and expansion of the cryptocurrency until 2010 when he suddenly disappeared from the scene.
The value of Bitcoin has since reached up to more than $1,000 and its current market value is around $415 each.
The investigations made by both Wired and Gizmondo were based on leaked emails and documents. This led many analysts to believe that the story might be a hoax.
Several previous investigations have pointed different people as the brains behind Bitcoin. In 2011, The New Yorker pointed that a cryptography graduate student at the Trinity College in Dublin could be Nakamoto. In 2014, Newsweek ran a story claiming that Dorlan Satoshi Nakamoto, a 64-year-old resident of Temple City, California, is the creator of Bitcoin.
