Recent football transfer rumors revealed that Juventus' Paul Pogba and Paris Saint-Germain's Marco Verratti could switch sides soon as the Ligue 1 champions desire to move the Frenchman back to his home country.

PSG is also allegedly willing to let go of Italian midfielder Verratti and allow him to return to Italy, possibly playing for Juve, if that is what it takes to get the France international to Parc des Princes.

ESPN cited Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo as the source of the reports, which would be ideal for both players if they are planning to spend the rest of their playing careers in front of their countrymen.

However, the report also noted that it is "highly unlikely that the two clubs would have a free run at a swap deal given that Barcelona, Manchester United, Man City, Chelsea and Real Madrid (to name a few) have all been linked with both midfielders".

The aforementioned Premier League and La Liga Giants are said to be targeting either one of Pogba or Verratti this January and with the money these rich clubs could offer both players, it would be a long shot for PSG and Juve to see their dream swap push through.

The good news is that Manchester United could pass up bidding for Pogba and Verratti as the Red Devils are reportedly keen on acquiring top-level global talents Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Neymar next summer.

Real Madrid could also bypass both midfielders as Los Blancos president Florentino Pérez is said to be targeting Chelsea's Eden Hazard as their primary Galactico signing as soon as possible.

Barcelona had a previous offer for Pogba rejected by Juve last summer, but they are "expected to attempt to sign him again next summer" despite the increasing competition, Goal indicates.

Meanwhile, Caught Offside reported that aside from Barça, Chelsea is also interested in getting the France international's signature in the near future, while Arsenal and Manchester City wants to acquire Verratti soonest as well.
