2016 Microsoft Surface Book vs. Surface Pro 4 vs. MacBook Pro: Which One to Buy for Christmas?

Tablets have become more and more like laptops.

It is still unclear when the 2016 Apple MacBook Pro will be released, but reports suggest that the laptop might come out this December. However, it will most likely be launched early next year. This delayed release gives Microsoft an opportunity to promote the new Microsoft Surface Book better. Because of the laptop's dynamic fulcrum hinge, it has become the first well-received laptop from the company.

The MacBook Pro is powered by 6th generation Intel Gen Skylake chips while the Microsoft Surface Book is powered by 6th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 chips, including an Intel HD graphics and 520/NVIDIA GeForce GPU. The MacBook Pro will have a 13 and 15-inch screen with 2K or 4K resolution while the Microsoft Surface Book features a 13.5-inch PixelSense screen with 3000 x 2000 resolution.

Rumors have it that the MacBook Pro 2016 will have 1 TB storage system and run on OS X El Capitan. On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Book has SSD storage options ranging from 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1TB with microSD slot. The MacBook Pro is not expected to come with highend cameras while the Microsoft Surface Book comes with an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. The MacBook Pro battery life is still unspecified but it is expected to have a better one. The Microsoft Surface Book comes with up to 12 hours of battery life.

Meanwhile, tablets have become more and more like laptops and an example of it is the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 which comes with Windows 10 instead of the catastrophic Windows 8. It also has the best-looking 12.3-inch display and powerful horsepower with built-in detachable keyboard and touchpad combination. It costs $900 and $1,100 with its stylus and optional keyboard.
